Veneers Treatment

Veneers Treatment

Our veneers will give you the ultimate smile makeover!

Dental veneers are wafer thin layers of porcelain that are attached to the front of the teeth and used to transform crooked, stained, damaged or worn teeth into a brand new straight white smile as seen on many of the Hollywood greats. It’s a similar concept to applying false fingernails to improve the look of your hands.

We currently offer free 30 minute consultations for veneer treatments at our London Wimpole Street Dental clinic near Harley Street, W1.

Our veneers are laboratory-fabricated specially made porcelain facings that are mechanically fused to the surface of the tooth. They offer fabulous visual appeal since the lab can include features like added opacity and distinctive stains and shades that permit a very close match to your natural tooth structure.

Design your own smile makeover with our customised approach

At Wimpole Street Dental you can design your own customised perfect smile using a combination of different treatments and shading options.

Although veneers are very popular at the moment, sometimes combining them with other treatments including whitening, invisible braces and orthodontics like implants, bridges and crowns, can be better suited to your dental needs and achieving that perfect smile.

And at Wimpole Street Dental you can choose from a wide range of sixteen different shades; from that perfect Hollywood smile to a more natural look if you prefer.

What treatments can porcelain veneers be used for?

Porcelain veneers can be used to change a tooth’s colour, shape or position. Veneers last longer than bonding, provide a superior appearance, and are less expensive than crowns.

There are a wide variety of problems that can be treated with dental veneers:

  • Stained teeth: a precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured tooth or to lighten the front teeth. Badly stained teeth that cannot be improved by teeth whitening or bleaching treatments can be greatly improved by dental veneers, which are designed to cover any existing stains on your teeth.
  • Damaged teeth: veneers can help teeth that have become badly worn through excessive grinding or by carbonated drinks, as well as those that have been chipped or broken. They can make a chipped tooth look intact again by covering the whole of the front of the tooth with a thicker section replacing the broken part. A single damaged tooth can easily be repaired with a porcelain veneer that has the same characteristics and colour as your natural teeth.
  • Gaps: spaces or gaps between your teeth can easily be closed using dental veneers, giving you a more uniform-looking smile.
  • Crooked teeth: veneers are not always the ideal treatment for crooked teeth, and from the point of view of preserving your natural teeth structure, orthodontics or invisible braces might be a better solution. However, such treatments can take up to a year or longer. For teeth that are not severely crooked, veneers placed over their front surface will give a straight and perfectly aligned-looking smile. For this type of treatment, many people refer to veneers as “instant orthodontics”, as you get a similar end result in a fraction of the time.

How long will it take to fit a veneer?

A veneer treatment will take at least two visits to our Wimpole Street Dental Clinic in London: the first to prepare the tooth and to match the shade, and the second to fit it. This will normally take two to three weeks. Before bonding it in place, we’ll show you the veneer on your tooth to make sure you’re happy with it.

Our dental veneers are virtually pain free to apply as we use gentle techniques

Our dental veneers are virtually pain free to apply as your own teeth are left intact, with no need for grinding down or drilling.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

Porcelain veneers will typically last for between ten to fifteen years. To make your veneers last longer, follow a good oral hygiene program and have regular check-ups.

Different types of veneers.

There are many different types of veneers and brands available, and at your initial consultation, we’ll discuss which is the most suitable for you depending on your needs and specific circumstances.
